EPOS Film Festival Poetry Film Program
Curated by Yasmin Kini
At a time when poetry films offer solace in the face of the painful reality surrounding us, this year’s program remains deeply connected to the world we live in.
This year, we are proud to present the premiere of “Taha – The Voice Between the Lines,” a short poetic documentary about the poet Taha Muhammad Ali, who died in 2010. Taha, a Palestinian poet whose work has been translated into dozens of languages, did not address the conflict directly, but instead explored feelings of pain, suffering, and hope.
The poetry film program will also commemorate two important poets: Israeli poet Israel Eliraz, who died a decade ago, and poet Hedva Harechavi, who passed away recently.
The program also features poetry films that resonate with the wars we are experiencing, as well as films that raise questions about artificial intelligence and the writing of poetry—and that ultimately plant a seed of hope for a bright morning yet to come.
