From the start, it’s clear that what “makes” this film is its fascinating heroine, Patricia Field. She’s interesting, funny, thorough, and has been addicted to her work as a costume designer for more than 50 years. Field has won quite a few awards, and her New York City store was a pilgrimage site for fans of all ages. Her costume designs for “Sex and the City,” helped change American fashion trends (everyone remembers Sarah Jessica Parker’s tutu).

Stars of “Sex and the City” and other celebrity fans of Field appear in this film, in which director Michael Selditch shadows the legendary designer as she works to find out what makes her tick. Selditch also reveals how Field succeeded, in large part, thanks to her captivating personality – which charms viewers of this film as well.
