LOVE LIGHTS (Objectos de Luz)

This is a film about the art of cinema – a love letter from the co-directors to motion pictures, and especially Portuguese cinema. Director Marie Carré is a veteran actress and her co-director, Acacio de Almeida, is one of Portugal’s great cinematographers. He also shot this film, which focuses on the central role of light in cinema. Together they created this film, in which mesmerizing images by this gifted photographer blend with archival footage and scenes from classic Portuguese films, as well as superbly staged scenes shot for this production.

All of this illustrates the miracle by which light, absorbed by our eyes from the big screen, is translated by our minds into emotion and love for cinema’s components.
