A new art form – poetry film – is born in the unique intersection of the written word and visual image. Each film creates a different connection between poetry and cinema, between poets and visual imagery. This fusion of the two blurs boundaries and pushes cinematic language into new and surprising places. These works also challenge viewers by refusing to be categorized as “fiction,” “documentary,” or “experimental.” Ten films, ranging from one to 15 minutes, make up this year’s program.
